I can't speak for other communities, naturally - but the amount of roleplayers (or detectable ones, at least) has decreased significantly as compared to when Skye used to administrate.
I've mentioned this before when you may not have been here, but there are people who would make "tulpas" where a singular caricatured trait is the totality of how they act.
Cadence is a bit more subtle if I want to be particularly critical, but I would not just use that as a way of 'determining' if somebody is roleplaying.

My concern is when it leads people to advise others in a way that literally does not make sense, or make claims that are directly inconsistent with how the brain works (to the best of the research I have read, at least).(edited)
Something to take into account is that many tulpas will not have the same life experience as a host , in the sense that they will have little to no responsibilities and live a sheltered lifestyle, making it easier to fall into the trap of behaving in a one dimensional way for the rest of their lives, simply because they are never pushed to grow past that(edited)
Why is it that you think large systems are more likely to roleplay? Does it have something to do with the overall type of person that would create a large system?
When people start claiming hundreds of developed tulpas, I would question them solely on the basis of how they actually had the time to spend forcing all of them - whether they or their other tulpas were doing so.
Polyfragmented Dissociative Identity Disorder DID (or the similar form of DDNOS) sometimes involves a very large number of alternate identities (also known as alters, alternate personalities, perso…
I would question whether those DID patients are actually experiencing something comparable to tulpas, or something more similar to switching personality states.
Ah, no. I wasn't referring to a circular definition. Moreso a discussion Jas, Harleen, and I all had one evening.

We were comparing and contrasting tulpas to personality states - using the more mundane example of personality changing depending on context, but it being the same "person".

Granted, DID has significant difference with that as well...
[With DID it seems the actual experience can differ as much as with any other plurality. So some might as well work like stereotypical tulpa systems and others very differently]
With all this talk of 100 tulpas, our system should just make 100 Touhou tulpas some day. Very little personality forcing required since we know them all so well.

Realistically though, they'll simply be dream characters, no tulpadom.
I would point out the person that claimed to have over 200 tulpas, primarily featuring the entire cast of super smash bros (including all costume alterations).
